After reports of consumers losing their life savings to Crypto ATM fraud, AARP Nebraska championed and facilitated the passing of an ordinance mandating the placement of warning placards on each Crypto ATM machine in Omaha. In addition, AARP NE volunteers known as the “Fraud Fighters” partnered with the Omaha Sheriff’s office to enforce placard placement by setting out on foot to visit each Bitcoin ATM in the area to audit compliance.
