Folks can think of creative and outlandish reason to call out of work. A 2015 survey from Career Builder compiled a list. Here are the seven best. An employee said he broke his arm reaching to grab a falling sandwich. Employees have said they were stuck under the bed. An employee said the universe was telling him to take a day off. Another said he was caught cheating, so he had to retrieve his belongings from a dumpster. Someone said she was going to the beach because her doctor told her to get more vitamin D. One said he chugged a bottle of mouthwash thinking it was Powerade and was sick as a result. Employees have even said their parakeets had the flu.
